CME’s Somatic Regulation & Neurodevelopmental Support services connect children, youth, and families with a carefully developed network of highly trained and experienced professionals with extensive experience supporting children and youth across a wide range of neurodevelopmental, sensory, emotional, behavioral, and regulation needs.
Rather than focusing solely on outward behavior, our approach considers the whole child: including nervous system regulation, sensory processing, body awareness, emotional experiences, communication, environment, and individual developmental needs.
Depending on the child, support may include somatic and body-based regulation work, neurodevelopmentally informed support, sensory and emotional regulation strategies, caregiver collaboration, and coordination with appropriate mental health or developmental professionals.

Every child experiences and responds to the world differently. Sessions are individualized around the child's needs, communication style, sensory profile, developmental stage, and lived experience.
Support may incorporate body awareness, movement, sensory exploration, grounding, recognition of internal cues, self-advocacy, and practical regulation tools that can be carried into everyday environments.
Somatic Regulation Sessions help children and youth better recognize, understand, communicate, and respond to what is happening within their own body.
Somatic Regulation & Neurodevelopmental Support may be appropriate for children and youth navigating:

Life transitions may include changes within the family, relocation, school transitions, bullying, changes in routine, and other experiences requiring additional adjustment support
Behavior is often the part of a child's experience that adults can see.
Somatic work looks deeper.
Sessions can support children and youth in developing greater awareness of:
Body Signals
Recognizing physical sensations, tension, energy, discomfort, overwhelm, and other internal cues.
Sensory Needs
Understanding how different environments, sounds, movement, textures, interactions, and levels of stimulation affect them.

Communication & Agency
Developing language, signals, strategies, and confidence to communicate needs and participate more actively in decisions surrounding their own regulation.
Practical Tools
Exploring individualized strategies that can be used at home, at school, during activities and throughout everyday life.
